In this letter, we would like to share information about the projects conducted in the region, which stands out as the area with the highest implementation of subsurface drip irrigation systems in Turkey. These initiatives, initiated in the sinkhole region with 400 hectares in 2018, expanded to 580 hectares in 2022, and further encompassed 220 hectares in 2023.
*Project Development:*
- *Initiation Year:* 2018.
- *Initial Area:* 400 hectares.
- *2022 Implementation:* 580 hectares.
- *2023 Implementation:* 220 hectares.
The subsurface drip irrigation system applications not only contribute to water and energy savings but also play an instrumental role in promoting the system by enhancing productivity for our participating farmers. Currently, we have approximately 550 hectares of ongoing projects in the region.
*Ongoing Projects:*
- The commitment to ongoing projects covering 550 hectares underscores our dedication to advancing irrigation systems in the region.
*Trial Crops:*
- The crops included in our trial projects range from corn, wheat to clover, showcasing positive outcomes achieved with the implementation of subsurface drip irrigation systems.
This system allows for irrigating larger areas with limited water resources. These projects aim to enhance water and energy efficiency, promote sustainability in agriculture, and empower local producers.
